I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Certified Public Accountant with over 24 years of experience in investing and tax planning. I became a fee-only financial planner and wealth manager in 1997.
Before entering the financial planning field, I taught high school physics. I also served 10 years as an Editorial Systems Manager for the Los Angeles Times, where I shared the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.
I earned my CFP® designation from the College for Financial Planning and a post-baccalaureate certificate in accounting from Portland State University. My BA in chemistry and teaching certificate are from California State University, Fullerton.
I am an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (ORCPA), and National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
